These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the earning, conversion, issuance, and use of Fonepay Points and Vouchers (“Services”) made available through the Fonepay Application. By accessing or using these Services, the User (“You,” “User”) agrees to be bound by these Terms.
Definitions
For the purpose of these Terms:
- “Fonepay Points” – Reward points earned by Users for completing eligible transactions through Fonepay.
- “Fonepoints” – A loyalty platform where Users may transfer their accumulated Fonepay Points.
- “Voucher” – A digital monetary-value instrument issued upon conversion of Fonepay Points.
- “Merchant(s)” – QR-enabled businesses authorized to accept payments using Fonepay systems.
- “Conversion” – The User-initiated process of exchanging points either into Fonepoints or into a Voucher.
Eligibility & Governance
- Only users with available Fonepay Points are eligible to convert those points into a voucher.
- Fonepay reserves the right to verify User identity, validate transactions used to earn points, and enforce all applicable regulatory and internal compliance requirements.
- Participation in the rewards program is voluntary and may be subject to additional policies or notifications issued by Fonepay.
Conversion Options
Users may choose one of the following conversion methods:
Conversion to Fonepoints Loyalty Platform
- Users may transfer their eligible Fonepay Points into the Fonepoints platform by providing consent through the Fonepay App.
- Access to the Fonepoints platform (including app download) is required to redeem converted points.
- Once points are converted to Fonepoints, the transfer is final and irreversible.
Conversion to Voucher
- Users may convert the total available Fonepay Points into a single Voucher.
- Upon successful conversion, the User’s Fonepay Points balance resets to zero.
- The conversion is permanent and cannot be reversed, and points cannot be restored.
In the event the User does not enroll in Fonepoints or complete the conversion process within the notified deadline, all unused Points will automatically expire and the balance will be reset to zero.
Voucher Characteristics
- Voucher value is calculated based on the total Fonepay Points at the time of conversion.
- Fonepay may amend the conversion rate and valuation methodology at its discretion and without prior notice.
- The Voucher will display the issued amount and its expiry date.
- Expired vouchers cannot be revalidated, refunded, or exchanged.
Voucher Usage and Redemption
- Vouchers may be used for payments at authorized Fonepay QR merchants across Nepal.
- The applicable voucher balance is auto-applied during the payment process.
- If the payable amount exceeds the voucher balance, the User must settle the difference through supported payment methods.
- If the payable amount is lower, any remaining balance continues to be available until the voucher expires.
- Voucher usage is subject to system availability, merchant acceptance capability, and regulatory requirements.
Refunds and Restrictions
- Vouchers are non-transferable, non-cashable, and cannot be sold, exchanged, assigned, or combined.
- Refunds for transactions made using a Voucher are generally not permitted. Where system capability allows, an approved refund may be recredited solely in the form of voucher balance.
- No refund or compensation shall be provided for unused or expired voucher balances.
Enrollment into Fonepoints After Voucher Conversion
- Users who have converted their Fonepay Points into a Voucher may enroll in the Fonepoints platform at any later time.
- Upon enrollment, Users may continue to earn new Fonepay Points through eligible transactions.
- Any Points earned after enrollment shall not be merged with, added to, or reflected in any previously issued Voucher.
- Voucher conversion rate is set at 65 paisa for 1 Fonepay point.
Expiry and Forfeiture
- Each Vouchers carry a defined validity period.
- Any unredeemed balance after expiry is automatically forfeited.
- Fonepay shall not be liable for loss of value due to User inaction, delays, or failure to utilize available balance within validity.
Fraud, Misuse and Compliance Enforcement
Fonepay may suspend, cancel, or revoke Points, Vouchers, or related benefits and may restrict User access if:
- Fraudulent, suspicious, or unauthorized activity is detected;
- Misuse or system manipulation is observed;
- A breach of these Terms or applicable regulations occurs;
- Required by law enforcement, regulatory bodies, or internal compliance policies.
Fonepay may also undertake verification, audits, or reviews as needed to safeguard system integrity.
Program Changes and Discontinuation
Fonepay may, at its sole discretion and without prior notice:
- Modify the reward program.
- Update conversion methods or valuation.
- Change applicable features or restrictions, or
- Suspend or discontinue the program.
Continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
Data, Privacy and Communication
- Personal and transactional data processed during earning, converting, or redeeming points shall be handled in accordance with Fonepay’s Policy and applicable regulatory guidelines.
- Fonepay may communicate program updates, expiry notices, or service alerts through in-app notifications or official communication channels.

For assistance or queries related to points, vouchers, or conversion processes, Users may contact Fonepay Customer Support through the Fonepay App or official channels.
